LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville woman is accused of leaving her toddler in a hot car while she shopped.

According to a Louisville Metro Police citation, 39-year old Merideth Goldstein was shopping on the night of July 5 at Oxmoor Center when an officer found a two-year old in her locked van.

Police paperwork says a fire department crew unlocked the car and EMS determined the child was ok.

The police report says Goldstein returned to her van with shopping bags 20 minutes later. Police believe she left the child in the car alone for at least 25 minutes.

Goldstein is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.
