LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Two friends were murdered on the streets of Louisville. Sunday, their families asked for justice and an end to the violence.

Pernell Dillard and John Beamus Junior were shot and killed on South 28th Street Wednesday night.

Sunday, loved ones gathered to draw attention to the case. It was the second time John Beamus Junior was a victim of gun violence. He was shot once before when he was just 13 years old and never walked again. No one was ever convicted of that crime.

The family hopes things are different this time.

"I'm clueless," said John Beamus Junior sister Terrica Beamus. "I'm like who would kill somebody in a wheel chair? Lifeless. He couldn't do nothing, he couldn't he couldn't even get up and sun if he wanted too. I just don't know."

There were a number of people in the area at the time of the shooting. Police still need people to come forward to help them catch the killer.
