PULASKI COUNTY, KY (WLEX 18) - The Pulaski County Coroner says the 16-year-old charged with killing her father Saturday used a 9mm handgun to shoot him multiple times in the head from three feet away.
The coroner says she then left him sitting on the couch.
Deputies say the 16-year-old came to the sheriff's office saying she had shot her father after an argument. When deputies arrived at the Eubank home, they found 43-year-old Richard Carmack dead.
The reason for the argument and motive for the shooting are still being investigated.
Richard Carmack's mother says she's heartbroken, since her son had just called her right before he was killed, saying he was coming to her house.
Alice Carmack says her granddaughter is a murderer, and she'll dearly miss her tenderhearted son.
The 16-year-old is being lodged in the Adair County Juvenile Detention Center and is due in Pulaski County Court Tuesday.
