LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A familiar face is facing assault and harassment charges. Vicki Glass, the Kentucky State Fair Board spokeswoman and former spokeswoman for Governor Steve Beshear, is facing the misdemeanor charges for what police say happened at a local mall.
WAVE 3 has obtained a copy of the arrest warrant. It says Glass became belligerent when a JC Penney employee at the Mall St. Matthews store refused to give her a coupon. It goes on to say Glass was cursing and yelling in front of her two children. The employee then told Glass she felt sorry for her children.
According to the report, that is when Glass hit the employee on the face and head three times. The woman suffered soreness to the head and neck and redness to the shoulder and face.
The complaint was filed the end of April, but Glass wasn't charged until July. A spokesman for the Jefferson County Attorney's Office says a bunch of warrants were mistakenly recalled during that time, including hers, and that's what lead to the delay.
Glass has pleaded not guilty and will be back in court next month.
We left a message for her in her office Wednesday morning, wanting her side of the story. Our calls were not returned by the time this story was published.
