LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - University police are looking for someone caught on camera near cars, which ended up vandalized. Lt. Col. Kenny Brown said a total of 39 cars had scratches or tires slashed. It happened around 3:50 Sunday morning in the parking lot next to Kurz Hall.

Brown said they have security video of a man, believed to be in his 20's, seen near those cars. He is a person of interest. Officers want to talk with him because he was seen in the area, at the time the cars were vandalized. Some of those cars had the words "UK wins" and "UK rules" written on them. At this time, Brown has not confirmed if the vandalism had to do with Saturday's big match-up between the CATS versus the CARDS.

Brown said the university is working with the students whose cars were vandalized. He said the university paid for the cars to be towed to a service center. He said if a car needed one tire changed, the university paid for it -as well.

Brown said, at this time, the department is trying to determine whether the person responsible for the crime worked solo or if there were other people involved.

If you know who the person is on the videotape or have any other information, call U of L police at 852-6111.
