RISING SUN, IN (AP) - Police officers have testified that a southern Indiana teenager showed no emotion as he told them how he killed his 10-year-old brother.
Rising Sun and Ohio County officers took the witness stand Wednesday at the sentencing hearing for 18-year-old Andrew Conley in the small Ohio River town. Conley pleaded guilty Monday to murder charges for the Nov. 28 strangling of Conner Conley.
Officers who testified said Conley's mother, Bridget, told him "you killed my son" when she was allowed to see him at the police station. Officers said Conley calmly responded, "I know."
Conley sat silently during the first hours of the hearing, mostly with his head down.
The prosecutor expects testimony to continue until at least Friday. Prosecutors are seeking a sentence of life without parole.
