LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The idea of tolls on Ohio River bridges has taken another hit.
The Metro Council Transportation and Public Works Committee has unanimously passed a resolution opposing tolls on existing bridges and roadways.
While the resolution does not carry the legal weight to squash any future tolls, it will serve as the committee's official opinion on the matter if the Bridge Authority seeks their advice.
9th District Councilwoman Tina Ward-Pugh says that she simply doesn't believe the community can support any tolls on existing bridges and roadways.
The resolution will now go before the full Metro Council for approval.
