Louisville, KY (WAVE) - Family and friends will gather Monday for the visitation of a Louisville Metro Police officer killed while bicycling off duty in Spencer County.
Officer Paul Pegram was on his bike on Thursday in Spencer County where he lived, when an SUV hit him on Highway 248. Investigators say the driver told them he didn't see Pegram and it was an accident. It does not look the driver will face charges.
Pegram served with Metro Police for 8 years. Before that, he was a state police dispatcher and was a volunteer firefighter for the McMahan Fire District.
Officer Pegram's visitation is set for Monday at Pearson Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home on Shelbyville Road. It's from noon to 7.
The funeral is at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Southeast Christian Church.
