HENRYVILLE, IN (WAVE) - A friend of a Henryville, Indiana woman who died after driving her car into a pond late Thursday is speaking out on her behalf.

Jennifer Just had her 8-year-old son with her when she apparently lost control of her car on Pixley Knob Court Road and went airborne before going into a deep pond. The boy escaped and ran to a nearby home for help.

Divers found Just's body under water outside her submerged car. She was taken to University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Michelle Campbell, says she has known Just for about 20 years, and is devastated by her death.

"I hope I can do her just a little bit of justice to let the world know that Jennifer Just was a beautiful, great person," Campbell said. "I hope people will try to understand that her family is grieving too."

According to court records, Just's son told investigators his mom used a shower curtain rod to break a back window, other documents obtained by WAVE 3 indicates an EMS worker said divers found the windows intact when they reached the vehicle.

"I know she done everything in her power to make sure that her son made it out of there and I know she didn't care one bit about herself at that moment," Campbell said.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office is continuing its investigating into what could have caused the crash.
