Louisville, KY (WAVE) Louisville's GE Appliance Park will be the site of a "milestone" celebration Monday.
The company says it will "celebrate yet another milestone" with workers, union and business leaders and government officials as it redefines "what is possible" in home appliances. That information comes from a press release issued by the company.
It is at the same time as an event at GE's Bloomington, Indiana plant where where Indiana Secretary of Commerce Mitch Roob will be on hand for an announcement about economic development.
The press conference and employee celebration will "announce how Appliance Park will play an integral role in GE's commitment to revitalize its appliances business as result of its U.S. factories becoming increasingly competitive globally," according to the release.
Business First of Louisville sites a note to union workers that says GE Appliances & Lighting is "possibly getting a new refrigerator line," and more jobs to produce them.
WAVE3 called union officials at Local 761, but those calls have not been returned.
