LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The family of Francene Cucinello, host of the popular 84 WHAS radio morning talk show, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Norton Audubon Hospital.

Francene was 43 when she died suddenly this past January after suffering a brain aneurysm.

Larry Franklin is the attorney representing the Cucinello family and he said that she was taken to the ER at Norton Audubon with symptoms of stomach pain, shortness of breath, headache, neck pain, nausea, and vomiting.

Franklin says Francene was initially diagnosed with pneumonia. Two days later a CAT scan showed she had brain bleed.

The lawsuit claims the hospital was negligent and was a substantial factor in causing the injuries to Cucinello.

Norton Healthcare released this statement on Tuesday: "Ms. Cucinello's death was tragic and occurred despite the efforts at Norton Audubon Hospital, including those of the dedicated physicians and nurses who worked hard to save her life."
