BOWLING GREEN, KY (WAVE) - Republican Rand Paul voted in his home precinct off Lovers Lane in Bowling Green Tuesday morning. He voted with his wife Kelley and 11-year-old son Robert.
If he wins, Paul could be the biggest Tea Party candidate to do so. He said he feels good about Republicans' chances nationwide.
"I think there's going to be a lot of new faces," said Paul. "I think there's going to be a lot of people who have not held elected office before, and I think it will be exciting if it can change Washington."
Paul, an eye surgeon, has not held an elected office.
Paul said the first thing he would do if elected senator would be to work on balancing the budget.
"It's not that there's no money," said Paul. "There's $2.4 trillion coming into Washington. All I'm asking is let's spend only $2.4 trillion."
Paul says he plans to spend the rest of Election Day with his family.
