Several crashes snarl traffic during morning commute

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Wet roads may be to blame for a number of traffic accidents in Metro Louisville.

Traffic was backed up on the Gene Snyder Freeway due to an overturned vehicle at I-64.

Drivers were using the shoulder of the road to get around the overturned vehicle.

In an earlier wreck, a tractor-trailer jackknifed at I-65 north just past the Snyder.

Police were also working an injury wreck on the Snyder at the I-65 ramp that was causing big delays, as well as another crash on I-64 west near Cannons Lane.

There were two separate wrecks on northbound I-71 near the Watterson Expressway, which slowed traffic in both the northbound and southbound lanes.
