10,000 people join a large settlement for 9/11 workers

NEW YORK, NY (WAVE) - Nine years after the tragic 9/11 events more than 10,000 people have joined a legal settlement for ground zero workers.

Those ground workers were exposed to toxic dust after the World Trade Center was attacked.

Most of the lawsuits are over a lack of protective equipment for the construction workers, police, and firefighters breathing in the hazardous dust and smoke cloud left after the towers collapsed.

The settlement will provide at least $625 million for those workers effected.
