Bed bugs found at Southern Indiana hospital

BLOOMINGTON, IN (WAVE) - A Southern Indiana hospital is cleaning up rooms after finding bedbugs. Bloomington hospital officials say they found out about the bugs Saturday and think they've isolated them to one patient.

Right now, they're using heat treatments to destroy the bugs in two rooms and making sure they don't spread to others.

As a precaution, before all patients at the hospital get discharged, they will go through the following procedure:

-They'll have to shower before leaving.

-Get a clean gown after the shower, before they put their clothes back on.

-All patient clothing's and belongings will be treated with heat to kill any bugs that might be there before patients leave.

It's unclear how long this protocol will be in place.
