They started out as study buddies during their junior year at Emory University, but after Ashaki asked Embry to go see The Nutcracker, their feelings started to take center stage. A year later, they spent New Year's Eve in Maine, touring the lighthouses along the snowy coast. One night, back at their cozy bed-and-breakfast, Embry sat Ashaki down by the fireplace while he went to get her Christmas gift. Ashaki closed her eyes and held out her hands, expecting an iPod Nano. Then Embry started talking about their future and she opened her eyes. "He was on his knee holding a beautiful ring in an amazing custom made ring box with our initials separated by a pink tulip (my favorite flower) engraved on it. It was perfect!" says Ashaki.

THE BRIDE: Ashaki, 26, an attorney
THE GROOM: Embry, 26, also an attorney
THE DATE: August 8

They spent the next 15 months planning a pink-and-yellow outdoor wedding inspired by the bride's favorite movies, Gone with the Wind and Marie Antoinette.

The Bouquet Ashaki carried a hand-tied nosegay of white hydrangeas, roses and dendrobium orchids, along with yellow freesia and statice. The arrangement was tied off with a pearl wrap.

The Ceremony A trail of pink and yellow rose petals marked the makeshift aisle in the Crane Cottage garden.

The Reception Guests dined under a large white tent, lit with hanging chandeliers. Antique gold and crystal candelabras added to the romantic ambience of the space.

The Centerpieces For the romantic, low-lying centerpieces, the florist combined fragrant white, pink, and red roses with white hydrangeas and yellow freesia.

The Toast In lieu of the traditional champagne toast, the couple used Coke as a tribute to the annual Emory University Coke Toast Ceremony for graduating seniors.

The Cake Gold etching covered the white buttercream cake, matching the details of the day. A cluster of fresh pink and yellow flowers served as the topper.
