LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Shively Police Officer has received the Governor's award December 1st for nabbing drunk drivers.
Officer Emery Frye also received the top overall award for agencies with fewer than 50 officers.
Between October 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010, Shively Police arrested 396 offenders charged with impaired driving. Officer Frye made 129 of those arrests.
"Officer Frye is a dedicated person that goes that extra mile to ensure the safety of this community. He is an outstanding officer and he is well deserving of this recognition" said Chief Ralph Miller, Jr.
Miller added "The highways are safer because of the men and women of law enforcement like Officer Frye that take the impaired drivers off the streets."
