Police believe homeless man may have robbed Republic Bank

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police are looking for the man who robbed the Republic Bank inside a Jewish Hospital complex at 220 Abraham Flexner Way Friday afternoon.

According to Lt. James Mueller, the LMPD Robbery Unit Commander, the suspect entered the bank just after 2 p.m., approached a teller, and announced that he was robbing the bank.

After receiving money from the teller, the suspect left on foot and was last seen eastbound on Abraham Flexner Way.

No weapon was displayed and no one was injured during the robbery.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s with a heavy build and a rough appearance, about 5'10 to 6' tall with dark hair and facial hair.

When last seen, he was wearing a dark green hooded sweatshirt and tan pants.

Police believe the suspect could be homeless.
