Fort Knox, KY (WAVE) – About 40 Soldiers from Fort Knox's 3rd Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) spent two weeks in North Carolina, training other soldiers for their future service in Afghanistan.

The 7th Sustainment Brigade, based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, will provide logistical support to American forces in southern and western Afghanistan.

They used computer-based exercises simulating things like monitoring convoys carrying supplies to ensuring Soldier's personal and professional needs are met.

"The most important thing the Soldiers of the 7th Sustainment Brigade learned was that battlefield information needs to be shared and thoroughly evaluated to develop the most effective solutions to complex operational issues," said 7th Sus. Bde. commander and Patterson, N.J. native, Col. Lawrence Kominiak.

The 3rd ESC will return to Fort Bragg in February, to help get the 6th Transportation Battalion's ready for its upcoming deployment to Kuwait.
