Fort Campbell officer, soldier wounded in fight

FORT CAMPBELL, KY. (AP) - A Fort Campbell military police officer has been stabbed and a soldier shot in an altercation at the post.

The post's public affairs office says the military police officer was on patrol around 1 a.m. CST Tuesday when he stopped to question a soldier.

The two started to fight and the military police officer was stabbed and the soldier was shot. Both were airlifted to a Nashville hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Fort Campbell straddles the Tennessee-Kentucky state line. The identities of the two were not immediately released.
