LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - An environmental group is saying that a cancer causing chemical is in Louisville's water.

The non-profit environmental group organization collected tap water from 35 cities across the U.S., including Louisville.

The tap water from Louisville had trace amounts of Chromium 6, made famous by the Julia Roberts' movie "Erin Brockovich".

Chromium 6 occurs naturally in some parts of the country, but it can also make its way into the ground water from manufacturing facilities.

Cincinnati's tap water also tested positive for Chromium 6.
