FRANKFORT, KY (AP) - Republican Rand Paul's rise from the life
of a small-town eye doctor to one of the most recognized political
faces in the country was selected as Kentucky's top news story of
Paul, who rode the wave of the tea party, defeated Kentucky
Attorney General Jack Conway to become the next Senator, replacing
the retiring Jim Bunning.
The No. 2 story selected by the AP in 2010 was the tragic
interstate crash in March that killed 11 people near Munfordville.
