LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Court documents are unveiling new information in the investigation into the disappearance and murder of an 18-year-old college student.
Louisville Metro Police say Andrew Compton of Carmel, IN, was last seen leaving a Sullivan University dorm on Oct. 28, 2010. Those court papers show when police searched 40-year old Gregory O'Bryan's Lucia Avenue apartment in the Louisville's Highlands neighborhood on Nov. 8, a cadaver dog detected the scent of a decomposed body. The report also shows a tool found several areas where blood may have been cleaned up.
Detectives say O'Bryan admitted that Compton died during sex and that he put his body in a box and put it in a dumpster.
For more than a week, Metro Police searched a landfill in Medora, IN where the trash from the dumpster was taken, but never found Compton's body.
O'Bryan is charged with murder, sodomy, tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse.
