Laurel County man charged for causing meth lab fire in home

LAUREL COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - A Laurel county man is facing charges after a meth lab fire started in a mobile home with two children caught inside.

Laurel County police received a call from a woman claiming that her brother, 39-year-old William Whittle, and two women set her trailer on fire then left the scene.

After the smoke cleared police investigators found materials used to make meth. Whittle is charged with making meth and endangerment of a child.

There were two children ages 8 and 11 inside the home when the fire started, both escaped unharmed, but Police are still looking for the women involved.
