Neighborhood Advisory Committee to meet on Jan. 17

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The next meeting of the District 5 Neighborhood Advisory Committee will get underway at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 17 at the Yearling Club, 4309 Broadway.

"We have a full agenda for the meeting which includes education and crime prevention," says Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton (D-5). "It is an important meeting for residents of the Portland, Russell, Chickasaw and Shawnee neighborhoods."

The meeting will feature Dr. Keith Look, Principal of the Academy@Shawnee. Diane Porter, Vice Chair of the Jefferson County Public School Board, will also be on hand to discuss changes proposed for the school. Porter is he District 5 representative on the Board.

The Advisory Committee will also meet the two new Division Commanders of the Louisville Metro Police Department; First Division Commander Major Jeff Waldrip and Second Division Major Bill Kristofeck.

"I want to extend an invitation to all residents to come out and ask questions but more importantly get to meet some of the people who teach our children and protect our neighborhoods," says Hamilton.
