CRESTWOOD, KY (WAVE) - Two Shepherdsville men are facing a number of charges after allegedly leading police on a chase with children in their car.
Oldham County police responding to a robbery at Cox's Smokers Outlet in the 6800 block of Crestwood, KY Saturday afternoon soon caught up with the suspects, 30-year-old Luke Hasty and 32-year-old Solomon Evans Jr., on Old HWY 329 and HWY 22.
Police say Hasty and Evans Jr. failed to yield and officers pursued their car onto I-71 northbound. The suspects allegedly crossed over the median and traveled south on I-71. Additional police officers responded.
Police say the suspects drove their vehicle into three police vehicles before stopping on I-71 south at the 13 mile marker. Once the vehicle was stopped, police say they found two small children inside.
The children were checked out by EMS, found not to be injured and returned to their mother.
Hasty and Evans were taken into custody. The responding officers who were hit were not injured.
Hasty and Evans are charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, robbery, fleeing and evading, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hasty is also charged with operating on a DUI suspended operators license.
Both men have multiple outstanding warrants through Kentucky as well as other states.
