LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - On Jan. 20, Louisville's most prominent radio personality, Terry Meiners, celebrated 25 years on the air at 84WHAS.
Since 1985, "The Terry Meiners Show" has aired weekday afternoons from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Meiners, who is known for his opinions and satire of news, politics, sports, and local issues, started at 84WHAS when he was just 28 years old.
"I didn't think I'd ever get here," Meiners said. "I remember coming in the door - I was 28 years old, and I said, 'if I'm still here when I'm 40, someone come hit me in the head with a rock because I don't want to be doing this in my 40s because it's so immature.'"
Meiners is one of the last afternoon live personalities left in America. Most stations have switched over to syndicated programming.
The anniversary was marked by a celebration from his fellow employees at Clear Channel Louisville.
