Man charged with abuse of child

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A Louisville man is facing criminal abuse charges after investigators say he burned a four-year-old child on purpose.

Metro Police say 23-year-old Ramon Buchanan was babysitting the child for his girlfriend at the time of the abuse. According to police, Buchanan burned the child's bottom with a cigarette because he claimed the child was misbehaving.

Investigators say Buchanan is also facing a charge of failing to register his address with the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry after a previous conviction for sexually assaulting a different four-year-old child.
