LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The sentencing of a man convicted for his part in a scheme to bilk more than $2 million from the University of Louisville and the University of Rhode Island has been delayed.
In Sept. 2010, Thomas Schroeder was found guilty of trying to defraud the IRS in a case that involved former UofL education dean Robert Felner. During a hearing on Feb. 3, Judge Charles Simpson did not sentence Schroeder because of several objections made by the defense which Simpson must now consider.
Felner pled guilty to fraud, money laundering and tax evasion. He is serving a 63 month federal prison sentence.
