Victim of Greenwood Avenue fire identified

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The coroner has identified a Louisville man who died after he caught himself on fire. The victim has been identified as 55-year-old Donald Butler.

The fire happened in the 2200 block of Greenwood Avenue on Friday. Butler died at University Hospital, the coroner says over 60% of his body was covered in severe burns.

Investigators are trying to determine if the man was trying to light a cigarette or cooking when the fire started.
