LEXINGTON, KY (WAVE) - Authorities have arrested a retired teacher from Florida who they say flew to Lexington to have sex with a minor.
58-year-old Dale Chisena Senior was arrested Friday night at Lexington's Blue Grass Airport. He has been charged with four counts of unlawful use of electronic means to solicit a minor. Chisena is being held on a $400,000 cash bond.
Investigators say Chisena had been chatting online with an investigator in Attorney General Jack Conway's Cybercrimes Unit, but according to them he believed he was chatting with a woman about having a sexual relationship with her and her two daughters.
According to authorities, Chisena, 58, has been in trouble with the law before. He was arrested in March, accused of having more than 1,000 images of child porn on a computer. Chisena admitted to investigators he had an addiction to child porn.
Chisena then resigned from his job as an elementary teacher - a position he held for more than 30 years. When Chisena posted his $60,000 bond, he was placed on home confinement and ordered not to have contact with children. But authorities believe he broke the law when he came to the Commonwealth on Friday.
Jeanette Stratton with Exploited Children's Help Organization (ECHO) says a case like this serves as a reminder that you have to be careful about who you meet online.
"Just because you've been talking to someone online for an extended period [of] time doesn't automatically make them your friend," Stratton said. "When you hear that it is someone in the community who is trusted, who is a teacher - and then do something like this to children, it's just alarming."
