LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer is hoping to change the way we eat in the Metro.
Fischer spoke at a viewing party at Bellarmine University Saturday of a national Webcast that promotes sustainable food economies. The goal is to push people to buy locally by shopping at farmers markets, and push for grocery stores and restaurants to carry local products.
The Webcast included national speakers addressing topics related to sustainable food economics including University of Louisville Urban Planning instructor Michael McCoy. A panel of local farmers also discussed the challenges and opportunities for creating sustainable local food economies.
