SHELBYVILLE, KY (WAVE) - There could be a major announcement soon for a plant that's been on the verge of closing in Kentuckana. UAW leaders says Martinrea heavy stamping in Shelbyville was expecting a visit from Gov. Steve Beshear on Wednesday - and some tax incentives.
That's because the plant is going to start making a new frame for Ford.
In 2009 the plant was scheduled to close because of the automotive industry meltdown.
No word yet if those economic incentives will spur more jobs at the Shelbyville plant.
