LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Police are investigating after a fatal crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 65 near the Outer Loop exit.
Police started working the scene at 12:17 p.m., and the ramp was expected to remain closed for several hours while crews clear the scene.
We're told the vehicle apparently went out of control and overturned, coming to rest in a big ditch (also known as "Southern Ditch").
The accident scene is on the ramp to the Outer Loop from the northbound lanes of I-65. Somehow the car got around the guard rail on the right side of the ramp, rolled through brush and ended up flipping over in the ditch about 100 feet from where the car left the ramp.
Police say it's possible the wrecked vehicle could have been there since around 5 a.m. before it was noticed.
