LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville's former Mayor will now forever be a part of one local landmark.

Former Mayor Jerry Abramson got the "Good Egg" award this afternoon at the Louisville Zoo for his two decades of work to improve the attraction.

His wife, Madeline, was also recognized for her contributions.

The honors didn't stop there, though. The zoo also unveiled "Abramson Way," which will be a permanent part of the Glacier Run exhibit when it opens later this year.

"It's just something Madeline and I have taken great pride in," said the former Mayor. "And the small role we've played with the commitment of the volunteers and so many that aren't with us today that made the difference, that gave us this top-flight, A-plus zoo."

Abramson is currently teaching at Bellarmine, as well as running for Lieutenant Governor.
