LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Construction and supply companies got a closer look at where the new downtown bridge and interchange will be.
On February 17, the Bridges Forum took a tour of the building site. Lawmakers on both sides of the Ohio river are trying to trim the $4 billion price tag of the project. Potential contractors came from all over the country to learn more about the project and share ideas.
"It's a major project," said Andy Barber of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, "not just for Kentuckiana, but also for the nation and the corridor of I-65."
About 800 people from 30 states and three Canadian provinces came to town for the two-day forum.
