DUBOIS COUNTY, IN (WAVE) - A Kentucky woman was arrested after she was pulled over on Interstate 64 in Dubois County Wednesday afternoon.
According to a press release, troopers from the Indiana State Police Drug Enforcement Section were patrolling the eastbound lanes of I-64 near the 66 mile marker around 4 p.m. on March 2 when one of the troopers noticed a white 2009 Toyota Camry following another vehicle too closely, then make a lane change without signaling.
After stopping the vehicle and speaking with the driver, 35-year-old Shenell J. Leach from Lexington, KY, the trooper became suspicious and conducted an open air walk around the vehicle with his K-9.
After a positive alert on the vehicle, the troopers on scene decided to have another K-9 walk around the vehicle. The second K-9 walked around the vehicle, and had the same results as the first.
Troopers searched the vehicle and found three pounds of cocaine. Leach was taken into custody and transported to the Dubois County Security Center. She is charged with possessing and trafficking in cocaine.
