LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Louisville Metro Police Department has issued a warrant for Chesica White, the mother accused of attacking a bus driver, dragging her off the bus by her ankles and hurting a little girl in the process.

White said she plans to turn herself in to police on Friday with the help of Community Activist, Christopher 2X. White told WAVE 3 she got on the JCPS bus with her 12-year-old daughter to protect her son against bullying happening on the bus.

When a JCPS school bus carrying White's 7-year-old son stopped on 24th and Broadway, she says she was there with her 12-year-old daughter to fix the problem. She said her son has been bullied on the bus for an entire year and Tuesday she wanted him to point out who was hitting him. That's when she said bus driver, Johnetta Anderson, became aggressive.

"She grabbed my daughter in the chest and she drew her hand back like she was ready to hit my daughter, so I snatched my daughter back. Then she kicked her leg out like she was getting ready to check me in my chest, so I did an actual reflex and I grabbed her foot. I caught it and I pulled and when I pulled she grabbed my son and {a} little girl and dragged them two down with her and then after that I didn't strike her. I didn't do nothing to her," White described.

White said she acted in self-defense because she felt threatened by Anderson. White said she does not have custody of both her children. "Whether they're in my custody or not, I love my children. I didn't mean for that child to get hurt and I didn't {mean} for it to escalate for this lady.....if this could have been resolved in a better form, then it would have been a better way," White said.

JCPS Spokesperson, Lauren Roberts said a family member did call the school, last week, to report concerns the 7-year-old boy was being bullied. She said the school was trying to address it and other problems on the bus, including rowdy behavior. On Monday JCPS installed a camera.

"There have been some ongoing concerns with some behavioral problems on that bus and that that's what might have precipitated this," Roberts said.

JCPS Transportation Director, Rick Caple said the 7-year-old is one of the children who has been misbehaving. White said she wants to say sorry to the young girl who got hurt, during the fight. She said she plans to surrender to police to prove a point.

"If I have to go to jail for kids to stop getting bullied on the bus for them to really kick in that zero tolerance then I guess that's what I'm going to have to do," White said.

LMPD said White's warrant is for wanton endangerment, assault on a school employee, assault minor injury, and unlawful transaction with a minor.

WAVE 3 found out White has been arrested before for assault with her boyfriend, disorderly conduct for shouting and shoving another woman, and also for kicking and damaging a car.

For this incident, White's 12-year-old daughter has been arrested charged with assault and 19 counts of wanton endangerment for each student left on the bus.
