BULLITT COUNTY, KY (WAVE) - Hundreds of Bullitt County students started the day with a very important lesson about school violence and bullying. The father of a Columbine High School victim was their special speaker.

Darrell Scott talked to students at Hebron Middle School. His daughter Rachel was one of the 13 people murdered at Columbine High School back in April 1999. He read from his daughter's diary and shared her story. Scott encouraged students to look for the best in others and choose positive influences.

"When you get up in the morning, and this is for the teachers, adults, students: say to yourself, I'm going to look for the best in people," Scott said.

Fifty people travel around the country and world with this program, called Rachel's Challenge.

The program concentrated on these five things:

-Look for the best in others
-Dare to dream
-Choose positive influences
-Kind words and actions
-Start a chain reaction with family and friends

They estimate about 15 million people heave heard the anti-bully and anti-violence messages.
