LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - A week into a supreme court decision granting them first amendment protection and now a controversial church group was expected in Louisville today to protest at a church service.
The Westboro Baptist Church announced intentions to protest at Louisville's Saint Lawrence Parish this afternoon.
The Parish still plans to hold its regularly scheduled mass Sunday, and says it will ignore the protestors and pray for them. The church's members hopes others will do the same.
The church group often shows up at military funerals, claiming that soldiers die due to the homosexual lifestyle.
