Police looking for fugitive who escaped during traffic stop

ASHLAND, KY (WAVE) - The Kentucky State Police in Ashland is looking for a fugitive who escaped custody early Monday.

According to a news release from the Kentucky State Police, 33-year-old Jason Dewayne Hall of Olive Hill, KY escaped from police custody during a traffic stop at the exit 161 westbound on-ramp of I-64 in Carter County around 10:30 a.m. Monday.

Hall was wanted for three outstanding warrants (failure to appear) which led to the traffic stop.

Hall is described as 5'9, and weighs approximately 180 pounds. When last seen, he was wearing a dark blue shirt, brown jacket, blue jeans, and a black toboggan.

Hall fled the interstate into a wooded area near the 161 exit.

Troopers and officers from the Olive Hill Police Department searched for several hours but were unable to locate Hall.
