Ohio River level high, but starting to recede

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The Ohio River level was just over 26 feet on March 15 on the upper gauge at McAlpine Locks and Dam and is starting to recede.

The National Weather Service said it will be a slow process to get things back to normal along River Road and other areas where flooding occurred. An early estimate has the river getting to about 23 feet, flood level on the upper gauge, within a week.
