LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The city of Louisville will play a small part in keeping our country safe. On March 25, BAE Systems announced that it is beginning production of propulsion systems for U.S. Navy submarines. The company is transferring the program from Minnesota to Louisville.

"The propulsion program," said Louisville Site Executive Gregory Malyszek, "brings with it 29 to 30 jobs. We are currently ramping up half. We go to two units a year. Probably starting next year we go to full rate."

BAE Systems is a global defense, security, and aerospace company with 107,000 employees worldwide.
