LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Fire crews say six people escaped an early morning house fire.
The call went out at 5:20 Tuesday to a home at Lee Villa Circle and East Blue Lick Road.
Fire Chief Rob Orkies say a young mother with a one week old baby woke up, smelled smoke and woke her father. He got his daughter and the infant out of the house through the front door. By the time he got his wife and two other daughters up, Orkies says they had to escape through several windows in the home.
Fire crews say the home was engulfed in flames when they arrived.
An ambulance took one member of the family to the hospital with cuts to their hands.
