ZONETON, KY (WAVE) – Kentucky State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in northern Bullitt County that has left an elderly man dead.
According to Kentucky State Police, deputies from the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office were called to 938 Dublin Circle on a domestic-related run around 1:30 p.m. Inside the house, a man raised a gun at the deputies. After the man refused to follow orders by the deputies to put the gun down, a deputy fired on the man, striking him several times. The man, identified by KSP as 78-year-old Arlie Roten Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police say this was not the first time officers have been called the home on a domestic call.
