Missouri residents trying to stay upbeat after tornado

BRIDGETON, MO (WAVE) - The weather is now calm in and around St. Louis, MO and residents are surveying the damage from a tornado on April 22. Front yards look like debris fields with wood, trees, glass and shingles Around 750 homes in the area were damaged in the recent storms.

Bridgeton, MO Mayor Conrad Bowers seems to think his community is handling the situation well. One man went to his neighbor, after finding out he was safe, and said "Look- get your house out of my driveway."

"It's so great," said Bowers. "Their sense of humor comes out."

Mayor Bowers gave credit to his police department and to neighbors who helped each other out after the horrific storm hit.
