LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A head-on crash in Harrison County, IN has killed a Mauckport, IN woman and left four others injured.
According to Indiana State Police in Sellersburg, the crash happened on Faith Road just east of Wesley Chapel Road around 8 p.m. May 3.
When ISP troopers and Harrison County deputies arrived on the scene, they found a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant and a 2002 Kia Sedona, both with extensive damage. Their investigation shows the Mitsubishi was headed westbound on Faith Road when it crossed the center line and struck the Kia.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, 35-year-old Michelle E. Vaughn, was pronounced dead at the scene. Vaughn's two sons, ages 10 and 8, were both taken to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville. The extent of their injuries was not known.
The Kia driver, 36-year-old Heather D. Seacat, also of Mauckport, was flown by air ambulance to the University Hospital in Louisville. Her injuries were described as serious. A passenger in her car, 47-year-old Neal H. Davison of Corydon, was taken to University Hospital by ground ambulance, also with serious injuries.
