WARREN COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -
Co-workers of fallen Warren County Sheriff's deputy Brian Dulle put the flag at half-staff at the Warren County Sheriff's Office in his memory. A small memorial at the site where the 36-year-old was killed early Tuesday morning was also prepared.
The site included a patriotic balloon, symbolizing Dulle's commitment to serve Warren County and his country, as a member of the United States Army.
Dulle went to Edgewood High School and graduated from Miami University. In 1999, Warren County Commissioner Tom Ariss hired Dulle. Ariss was the Warren County Sheriff at the time. Ariss says he was a great person who was easy to train and easy to work with.
Ariss says Dulle was a great deputy but an even better parent.
Neighbors say Maddie has been cancer free for six months, and now that Facebook page has become a place of prayer and well-wishes for the Dulle family.
One post reads: "Prayers to The whole Dulle family. Brian was an awesome deputy & a great friend to so many of us. I'm blessed that I had the privilege of working with him as a County dispatcher.
Fellow deputies describe Dulle as a committed father, a family man and invaluable on the force.
"Brian was a tremendous worker, a great personality, like to do the practical jokes on one another, it's all part of the camaraderie that family atmosphere that we tend to have," said Warren County Sheriff Larry Sims.
The Sheriff's Office Chaplin says they're offering support for Dulle's family and fellow deputies.
"We'll try to provide as much service as we can to the families, in making sure that not only do the deputies have someone to talk to, but also the families have someone to talk to," said Chaplain Bill Hounshell.
Flowers now sit before the Warren County FOP Memorial, honoring members of law enforcement that have died in the line of duty. That list of names will now include Sgt. Brian Dulle.
"I know this morning they were talking about the wonderful memories they had of Sgt. Dulle was just a wonderful guy, a wonderful guy to work with, I've been out on a couple call with him before, and he was just someone who was very professional, very good at what he did, so they'll starting talking about those memories," said Hounshell.
