WEST CHESTER, OH (FOX19) -

It was shoulder to shoulder at Willie's Sports Cafe in West Chester on Wednesday night. Everyone was there to raise money and support Sgt. Brian Dulle's family.

Dulle, 36, was killed May 10 when he was laying down stop sticks during a chase and was struck by the suspect.

"It was important for us to be here tonight, because this outpouring it is just, we don't have words to describe," said Ed Dulle, Brian's father.

"I've always been the proudest mom in the world, this just confirmed it," said Denise Dulle, Brian's mother. "He was a better son than he was a police officer."

Most of the people that attended the fundraiser were complete strangers to the Dulle family.

"I Just want to support the family. I can only imagine what the wife of those kids are going through," said Ben Huxel, a Springfield Twp. police officer. "The kids will never see their dad again, that's tough."

Sgt. Dulle's parents Ed and Denise say the hundreds of people showing their support is what Brian would have done if a tragedy like this would have happened to someone else.

"He was all about others, that is what his life was about," said Ed Dulle. "He put others first, he always did."

Bill Cunningham, the owner of Willie's Sports Cafe, said $20,000 was raised between the fundraising event and other private donations.
