LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - The woman accused of assaulting a JCPS school bus driver has accepted a plea agreement.

Chesica White pleaded guilty Thursday to third degree assault on the bus driver and fourth degree assault on an elementary student who was injured during the scuffle.

Police say White pulled Johnetta Anderson from JCPS Bus #0402 at 24th and Broadway in early March, dragging her down the steps by her ankles and hurting a child in the process. White's attorney argued she was there to address concerns that her 7-year-old child was being bullied on the bus for some time.

Court documents say White and her 12-year-old daughter hit Anderson in the head and face with their fists.

JCPS officials admitted there had been complaints about behavioral problems on that particular bus, and a security camera was installed on the bus on Feb. 28.

There were 19 children from Stopher Elementary on board when Anderson was assaulted, and White had faced 19 counts of wanton endangerment.

Sentencing was set for June 20 in Circuit Court.
